Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Shift Supervisor to join our team. As Shift Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of their assigned shift, ensuring adherence to safety,5’s-Houskeeping, and efficient production and quality standards. This role involves supervising production staff, coordinating workflow, and addressing any issues that arise during the shift. The Shift Supervisor will also be responsible for training employees, monitoring performance, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the daily activities of production workers on the assigned shift.
  • Ensure that all employees adhere to safety and quality standards.
  • Plan and organize work schedules to meet production targets.
  • Drive Operations KPIs for Production (Safety, OEE, BTS, OTD, Scrap,)
  • Allocate tasks and resources efficiently to maximize productivity.
  • Track and evaluate employee performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and address any performance issues promptly.
  • Train new employees on production processes, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for existing staff.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards by conducting regular inspections and audits.
  • Address any quality issues immediately and implement corrective actions.
  • Enforce safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety.
  • Identify and resolve production issues that arise during the shift.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and managers to address and prevent recurring problems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Implement process improvements and encourage employee suggestions for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, downtime, and any incidents.
  • Prepare and submit shift reports to management.
  • Communicate effectively with other shifts and departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Relay important information and updates to the production team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Business Management, industrial technology, or a related field is advantageous
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends if required
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality assurance
