What to Include in Your Resume
Today, we’ll tell you which pieces of information to include in your resume.

Are you currently job hunting? Something you’ll always need when searching for jobs is a well-made resume. Resumes should include many different details about yourself. What’s important, though, is trying to keep it as short, sweet, and to the point as possible. After all, employers have to look through plenty of resumes every day, so if yours takes longer to read than others, it means yours could get tossed to the side. So, what should you include? Today, we’ll tell you which pieces of information to include in your resume.

Information About Yourself

When we say “information about yourself”, we’re referring specifically to information that’s relevant to your potential employer. You should include pieces of information such as your name, address, and how best to contact you.

If you have any interests you want to tell them, make sure those interests are relevant to the position for which you’re applying, and avoid mentioning general hobbies like reading or exercising.

Education Background

You’ll want to show potential employers what kind of education background you have. This includes telling them the schools that you attended, what graduation credentials you have (high school diploma, college degree etc.), and when you earned these credentials. If you graduated from college, you should also tell them your major/minor, as this can help them determine whether or not your scholastic background fits the position.

Past Work Experience

Past work experience is a big deal for any resume. It shows employers what types of jobs you’ve handled in the past, and what work experience you bring to the table.

When listing off your past job experiences, there are a few points you’ll want to cover. First, list off the names of the positions you’ve held, and for which companies. Next, state how long you’ve held each of these positions. Then, provide short descriptions for each of the jobs you mention. This means telling people what you did while working these jobs, as well as what skills you acquired throughout your time working them.
